I wrote my first article about twelve months ago and submitted it to a number of what I consider to be the main article directories. These included ezinearticles, goarticles, ideamarketers and searchwarp. Looking back I have to admit that I did not really know what I was doing, and in truth the article was not that impressive. I continued to write more articles and continued to make mistakes.
Unlike other directories who seem to accept any old article, ezinearticles check what you are submitting. I am now spending a lot more time when I write the articles and feel that they have gradually improved, this has been confirmed by Wally himself I am pleased to report.
As for the benefits of writing articles and is it worth your time and effort? Many people, from many different countries, have contacted me after reading one of my articles – this certainly puts a smile on my face and shows me that all of the hard work is worth it. I have gained a one-way link from a number of these people after they decided to include my piece of work on their websites or blogs. They have helped to promote the stuttering therapy service that I offer. I managed to stop stammering a few years ago and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency.
I have to admit that at times I do use the services of a copywriter – this is for time management reasons or perhaps because I am lazy!
Each and very person that gets to read the article is a potential visitor to your website – this is traffic you would not have course received had you not written the article. That visitor could of course turn into a client or purchaser of your product/s.
For me search engines are going down the path of seeing one-way backlinks as by far the most powerful form of link. One way links are not as easy to obtain, however writing articles has the potential of creating many one way backward links to you site and therefore is a must for any serious webmaster.

If you are looking into the different options and ways to promote a website you should seriously consider article marketing. Writing articles has helped me personally to attract huge amounts of additional traffic to my own websites. New sites are always on the lookout for quality fresh content and many of these webmasters are likely to look on the best article directories to find it.
In real terms the internet is still in those “nursery” years. You may well think that there are too many sites in cyberspace at the moment but just think how many there will be in fifty years time. I like to help the webmasters of these sites by providing them with their content by submitting articles to the article directories which I hope they will use and find beneficial. They are able to use my articles for free as long as they keep all of the links live and in tact from the article.
My aim each week is to write seven articles, which at times is quite difficult especially if I am very busy. I am amazed by the amount of articles other people are able to write and submit, like for example Lance Winslow. Lance is a cult figure on EzineArticles and is an example of what can be done if you are dedicated to your profession.
Whether your site is about dog insurance, a gym Manchester or about becoming a HP distributor you can not go far wrong with writing articles.
As well as submitting your articles to some of the top article directories it is also worth writing some fresh content to put solely on your own website. By adding new and fresh content to your site will help it to grow and it also helps it to attract those all important one-way backward links. The search engines are also more likely to spider your site on a more frequent basis if you do this and the visitors to the site are more likely to keep returning if they know that this fresh content is going to be added.

I would have to say that the majority of people that I have met have very much a “get rich quick” philosophy when it comes to the internet. They are seeking virtually instant results and when they do not manage to achieve this they become despondent and then lose their drive. As an example I have introduced many people into article marketing, after all it has worked very well for me. These people quickly understand the concept and feel that it is a great idea. They then spend the next two months writing articles and on average will write forty articles in this period. It is at around this point when these webmasters start to get bored of the whole writing thing – they had hoped and had even expected to perhaps become millionaires at this stage but it hasn’t quite happened for them.
So what happens next? Well they have not achieved the results that they had expected and are quickly losing interest. I would then attempt to talk them round by explaining the positive results that I have had via article marketing but guess what? Yes they stop writing articles. If they do not have the time or energy to continue writing themselves they could have hire an article submission service – but many of them just give up.
But lets just say that these people hadn’t have had such a short term attitude and had continued to write and submit articles – what would the results have been? In my opinion they would be dominating their niche, such as offering DVD replication, as long as they are also learning about other forms of website promotion and applying them.
Web promotion and link building services should, without doubt, be seen as a long term project. Yes we all want to see positive results quickly to give us a confidence boost but as long as we are doing the writing things, SEO wise, then we will succeed our goal of high rankings in the search engines.

Relevant articles
When you're writing articles for a particular website, you need to keep the target readers in mind. Everybody who owns a site dreams about receiving lots of website visitors directed to it. But trying to get your site discovered out of literally millions of websites can be a quite tedious task sometimes. A lot of individuals believe that they need to commit hundreds or thousands with pay per click search engines or SEO experts to be able to receive any website visitors, truth be told, that really is not the reality.
You may not realize this but there is an easy way to have your site noticed that does not require any cash at all: loads of content. Inside this article we will discuss how to utilize content on your website to pull in more traffic from the search engines.
One popular misconception that most people have is that the use of Meta Tags are the primary key to receiving search engine traffic. This is not true. Although meta tags need to be applied, the truth is what really draws a search engines attention is unique content. The more fresh content you have about a specific theme on your website, the greater your chances are of getting traffic from a search engine.
However be sure to remark on your topic a lot of times on the web page. You don’t need to get too crazy with it, but it is a necessity to mention your keywords at a minimum of four times. Also, you need to write good content, not just the keyword phrase over and over again, due to the fact that this is known as keyword spamming, and employing this black hat method can in all reality get you blocked from the search engines.
Another great tip when writing your unique content is to create them as single pages, do not make them frame based pages, due to the fact that some search engines have a harder time reading them.
How many unique content pages you required, will depend on what your site is about. If you are advertising a service that is unique you may not need many unique pages. However, If you are promoting in a saturated market, you may very well need dozens, possibly thousands of unique articles to get your website to the top of the engines.
Even though this may seem like a lot of effort, but it is really not that much after you begin doing it. Just do a few articles a day, and within about a month you will more than likely have written more than enough content to generating the visitors you need to survive.
The other thing is if you require assistance creating the posts, there are a lot of sites, like toparticledirectory.org that supply either free or very cheap content for your websites. Remember: if you post the content, they will come!
